What a lovely surprise to find one of my pattern design mockups featured on today’s blog post by Rachael Taylor Designs. There’s also lots of other designers on there with gorgeous work. Here’s the link

(c)2014 The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design
I created this design as part of the “Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design” Module 2 course I took (which was amazing and so much fun). I used one of the many free images they provide to mockup the design as a wallpaper. The brief was to design a set of stationery (Oh how I love stationery) This was my take on it:
I also used this pattern for a set of 3 tea towel designs I had printed up for Mother’s Day, as a gift for my Mum. It was so satisfying seeing an actual product with my design. I had them printed at Bags of Love. There was a 3 for 2 offer on and I also had a matching greeting card made. The quality was really great, although the colours I chose were a little too pale when printed onto the off white tea towel fabric. Next time I will use slightly brighter colours.
Thanks for stopping by
